Termozulia III - A high impact EPC

The Termozulia III Combined Cycle project continues to make progress in line with the planned timetable for the electromechanical assembly phase of the turbogenerators, tank construction, interconnection with Termozulia I and II, completion of foundations for smaller units in the fuel and water areas, and contracting of control room. Actions are also being taken to organize the sequence of tests and systems start up, electromechanical assembly of other equipment and balance of plant (BOP). (Link to project fiche)


Basic engineering and review of manufacturers’ plans take place in the offices of Sener in Bilbao, Spain; the engineering and procurement group fulfils its work plan in Caracas, and construction and management activities are located in La Cañada de Urdaneta, Zulia state.


This project, whose contractual start took place in March 2010, is one of the most important turnkey contracts that inelectra has executed in recent years. It also represents a high impact commitment at national level since it will increase power generation capacity for the national network, with connection from La Cañada de Urdaneta, a locality close to the city of Maracaibo, Zulia state.
